| The Objectives |
| Following a first project conducted by FMI-SMI in 1997-1998 to review the need for meteorological measurements in icing conditions and the available sensors, EUMETNET started another SWS Programme in July 2000 to define field test procedures for sensors in icing conditions and test a number of sensors at three sites in Finland, France and Switzerland. |

| The winter 2000-2001 has been used mainly to establish and coordinate the test sites and test procedures (the sites are Luosto, Mont Aigoual and Mont Säntis). Instruments have been collected from NMSs and manufacturers to be tested during the winter 2001-2002. |
| The final report was published in summer 2002. |
