MAP-NWS (Mesoscale Alpine Programme - National Weather Services)

MAP-NWS is a contribution of EUMETNET to the MAP research Programme.

The MAP-NWS Programme supports the Map Programme Office and the MAP Data Centre. It was recently decided to extend the Programme to the end of 2005 to ensure in particular the availability of the MAP data base for a sufficient period of time. The MAP-NWS Programme ended in 2006.

The Swiss Meteorological Institute was the Responsible Member for MAP-NWS.

The Programme Manager was Mr. Andrea Rossa (e-mail : rossa@sma.ch).

Seven EUMETNET members participated in MAP-NWS, the NMSs of Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Switzerland. The National Meteorological Services of Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia are also Members of MAP-NWS.
