EMMA
(European
Multi-services Meteorological Awareness)
![]() |
EMMA will develop a graphical information system accessible via the Internet by the general public, the European meteorological forecasters and all concerned authorities, providing information on potential meteorological risks over the next 24 hours.
The territory under the responsibility of the participating national meteorological services will be divided in several areas. Everyday the areas will be displayed in a colour depending on the level of meteorological danger expected in the next 24 hours. The colour will go from green (no danger expected), to red (devastating meteorological event possible, inform yourself immediately about the weather forecast for your area !). A click on the area will then provide access to the corresponding national meteorological warning system.
The second phase of the programme started on 1 November 2005
The Responsible Member is ZAMG and the Programme Manager is Mr Michael Staudinger.
